Our History
How it all began
OURhaus stems from a very simple realization:
A summer house should be a place you look forward to visiting—not something you have to spend time maintaining.
We wanted to create a model where ownership and use go hand in hand, and where the house functions without becoming a project.
Through our experiences with OURhaus in Italy, it also became clear to us that for many people, it is truly important for a summer home to be easily accessible so that it can be used as much as possible by both owners and their family and friends. It also became clear to us that we can create an even more sustainable model in Denmark, because the distances are significantly shorter, so there’s no need to burn jet fuel or spend hours “getting to your summer home.”
That’s why we’ve created the new OURhaus concept in Denmark, with our quality-conscious partner, EBK HUSE.

Hi, my name is Jesper
I have a background in economics and business management, with solid experience in financial management and monitoring large-scale construction projects. Through OURhaus, I have helped develop and operate vacation home sharing properties in Italy, which has given me in-depth knowledge of how the model works in practice—both financially and in terms of how owners use the properties. I own a vacation home in Italy myself and have, over several years, observed how a property evolves over time—what makes it work and what ensures that it is actually used.

Hi, my name is Torsten
I have a background in management and business development, with experience in the construction industry and technical contracting, among other fields. Through my work with shared vacation homes in Italy, I have helped develop a concept where quality, usage, and operations are seamlessly integrated—and where the experience is carefully planned from the very beginning. I own a vacation home in Denmark myself and am also a co-owner of a family vacation home. This combination has given me a very concrete understanding of what works in practice—and what often turns out to be more complex than expected.

For 50 years, this family-owned business has provided the setting for unforgettable vacations, and many Danes have grown up with an EBK house as their family’s natural gathering place. The company was founded in 1976 and is currently run by siblings Jesper and Dorte Keinicke, who, as the second generation, carry on proud traditions of craftsmanship with a keen eye for sustainability and quality.
